NZ to buckle under pressure

No - not a cricket or rugby story. The Bankers' Association has agreed to consult banks on changes proposed by InternetNZ to a controversial banking code of practice that came into effect eight days ago.

One security expert believes that banks might buckle on its key terms if put under enough public pressure. The code makes hundreds of thousands of customers who are not running up-to-date software on their computers potentially liable for losses from Internet banking fraud.
