To Skype or Not to Skype

Technology obsolescence issues aside, the most interesting discussions are in the information security community. To most security managers and executives, Skype is a tool to bypass established security controls, compromise the integrity of the network, impact availability, and violate security policy. The Skype service operates without the central control of the organization. Any employee can download and use the software, even on protected corporate networks.
